Payback Ride at Bear Creek (a3)

Scott, Nick (aka Gronk), Machine Gun Kelly & I met at the Aspen trail head to do some trail riding.
The weather was looking perfect (overcast, cool, but not cold). Trails look grippy.
We played around in the new beginner playground (it’s perfect for me to improve), and then started out.
We immediately bumped into John Patterson who decided to join us.
Headed out on #4, I really wanted to try 205; this would be attempt 3 for me.
First time was a navigational error, and thus, “Compass Geoff” was born. The second attempt was this spring with Elo and my chain lost its quick link. This time was going to be my time!
I was getting over the obstacles nicely, and noticed John (on his 790) struggling a bit.
I helped him, and I suppose this is my payback for soaking John in the mud 2 years ago.
I stepped on a slippery rock and my knee left the chat. If effing hurt, and I fell to the ground. It popped back in but the damage is done. I wear knee braces, but I’m really on the fence about them. Sigh.
The stellar friends who are smarter with this stuff just had me stay put for a bit. After I felt I could put (minimal) weight, Nick turned my bike around and the group escorted me back to the truck; loaded my bike for me and now I sit, icing the knee (and my ego for my loud screams of pain).
Well, now my write up is longer than my ride, so my job is done.
