A ride with Hero Dirt, highs and lows and a bike rescue, this ride seemed to have it all!

Like the Millennium Falcon, she’s got it where it counts….until she doesn’t….

Ride number 2 after the fresh carb rebuild, Bourgeois Rob (or should I say Lightening Rob!?!) and I headed out on a vintage DRZ ride to Bear Creek.

We started on the FSR I seem to have been on a lot this season, and ride up Terrace. It seemed a bit easier compared to last year. Could be the amazing conditions.

We continued on and decided to get off thr FSRs and work our way to number 3; which a wrong turn turned into 51. Well, we’re in the shit now, so let’s keep going. I managed well enough; it was definitely challenging for me, but I did ok.

Some highlights were watching Rob bring out his inner Trials and send his pig up a couple rock walls. Pretty awesome.

Then we got on some double track (4? 42? - whatever. This is one of the only trails E and I rode and I still didn’t recognize it). Anyway, once we got here Lightening Rob ended up with a fire under his butt because I only saw him when he waited for me at certain times. Taking his time my ass….

Rob suggested we hit #1 and work our way out. Seemed like a good idea until the yellow beast decided to have other plans…a jammed throttle. :(

Something inside the carb is getting caught resulting in the inability to twist the throttle. Took it a bit apart…using Rob’s tools because my dumb-ass can’t get his tool kit right this year. No joy though. Couldn’t rotate the throttle on the carb body; so it’s not the cable. Back together, arrange for a ride, then the dam thing started working..ish.
Well, for safety reasons, we kept the arranged ride and the Deezer took a ride home as it would still occasionally get caught a little as I rode.

Thanks Mrs Lightening for the save, and Rob for a great ride.
